Well, Dr. Wilson is wrapped in some plastic bags, sitting in a DVD-R cylinder package full of ice, fighting to transfer his .dat file to my main notebook drive with the last of his whirr-click energy. His little blue light flickers sometimes. He's already transferred 21% of the data. He'll probably finish by tomorrow night, and then I can burn the rest of this stuff to a bunch of ISOs and format him, see if it helps. Poor boy. He had a good run--I've had him since two Christmases ago and he's survived three worrying falls, a lot of squashing, and some stepping-on, and never a single error until he fell four feet from the dining room table and smacked into the tile. Oh, my poor baby. Going out like my DS Lite--a minor fall from about 4-5 feet.
Gatsby, my laptop, doesn't even recognize him any more. Just says, "Drive E: Missing." So in "My Computer" now it's just Dr. McKay and "Missing" where Dr. Wilson oughtta be.
Sigh.
I'm... I'm gonna watch Diablomon no Gyakushu. Again. And since I just got back from a six hour rehearsal, I'll probably just fall asleep in the middle of the opening credits. I'm so tired. And I can't skip any classes tomorrow, either.
...I think I'll stay up and watch over Dr. Wilson a little longer. If he crashes during the night, I'll feel terrible. I might crash from being up all day and being so unrested last night, but it's okay. I'd rather stay with him a little while and listen to him whirr-click away in his ice-bucket, like he's murmuring a few last words to me.
It's sad when an Iomega 60GB External Hard Drive is your best friend, eh?
Boy is Janis going to get an earful of tearful technobabble at therapy tomorrow... :<
